On 16 May 2026, at Belturbet PC, Cavan, North Down PC were the victors in the inaugural Ulster Club championship. In a 3-cornered competition over 6 rounds, with Ormeau and Cavan PC, our Club took the honours with 16 wins, 2 ahead of Cavan and 8 ahead of Ormeau. On an unfamiliar and challenging piste, while all 5 of our doubles teams achieved a number of wins, of particular note were the performances of (a) Linda Montgomery and Bob and (b) Jimmy and Gerry T, who finished in 2nd and 3rd places respectively in the ‘top team’ category. It is intended that this event will be an annual one and next year’s is scheduled to be played at our ‘home’.
